Claiming to be “The Savior of the National Wrestling Alliance,” Matt Cardona defeated Trevor Murdoch to become NWA® World’s Heavyweight Champion. His reign was short-lived though, as injury forced him to vacate the championship at Alwayz Ready, the very pay-per-view named in his honor.

Adding insult to injury, Cardona fell victim to back-to-back pinfall losses to Rolando Freeman. Humiliated, he briefly disappeared from NWA®. He returned for a series of unsuccessful opportunities to regain the World’s title.
