NWA POWERRR August 29th Recap: NWA 78 is officially underway in Philly. Contract's Signed, Titles on the line, and a new champion crowned!

This weekend's episode of NWA Powerrr was the kickoff of the 78th Anniversary of the National Wrestling Alliance, with lots of exciting action! The contract has been signed; Carson Drake will face Silas Mason for the 10 pounds of gold, women's tag team action, a McCord showcase with the Television title on the line, a new World Junior Heavyweight Champion crowned, and a family feud with years of history.

Sirena Veil & Alice Crowley pick up their first tag team victory on NWA Powerrr

Sirena Veil & Alice Crowley def Corrine Joy & Liviyah

Our opening match this week was a women's tag team match between the duo of Sirena Veil & Alice Crowley, alongside Paige Collett, who took on Corrine Joy & Liviyah. The fans were in for a treat as NWA President Billy Corgan was on commentary to call this match, alongside ECW Legend, Lou Angeli. It didn't take long for the physicality of the women's division to take full display!

Corrine was starting to show some momentum for her team, but that was stopped in it's tracks immediately, once Paige got involved on the outside. Once Liviyah made her way into the match though, she took over the advantage for her team!

However Sirena and Crowley were able to stay steps ahead of their opponents. Once Crowley pushed liviyah off the top rope to the outside, Sirena Veil was able to hit Blood Bath for the victory.

NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title Match

MZRY vs El Dragon Nihan to Time Limit Draw

In our next match, we saw a McCord Collection Showcase with the World Television Title on the line as MZRY defended the belt against El Dragon Nihan. MZRY was trying to get the upper hand early, but Nihan used his power to his advantage.

MZRY wasn't going to go down without a fight, hitting a massive dive to the outside, but it still seemed nearly impossible to topple the giant.

In the end, the match ended up going to a time limit draw, but the 2 of them continued to battle, until Brandon McCord along with Bonez was able to get them seperated.

A new NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion has officially been crowned!

NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship Match

Hayden Backlund def Richard Adonis, Axton Ray, & Damian Fenrir

In our next match up, we saw a 4-way match up to decide a brand new NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion. It was originally meant to be a #1 contender match, but Billy Corgan revealed on commentary he stripped Slade of the championship after the actions he and Mondo did against Bryan Idol's mother a couple of week's ago in Atlanta. Richard Adonis didn't waste anytime getting the early advantage!

It didn't take long for Axton Ray to start manhandling Adonis, showing off his physical offense, but Hayden was able to break up the pin...kind of.

It seemed like to could be any man's match, but after a pinfall break up and put Axton Ray in a pinfall combination of his own, and was able to secure the victory and become the brand new NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion!

Kerry Morton pulls off the victory in the Main Event of NWA Powerrr

Kerry Morton def Colby Corino

In this week's main event match up, a family feud was renewed as Kerry Morton looked to get back to his winning ways taking on long time rival, Colby Corino. It didn't take long for Corino to be on the offense.

Morton and Corino put out their best trying to put the other away, but neither one of them were ready to quit!

Kerry realized he had to pull out all of the stops against Colby Corino.

In the end, Kerry Morton was able to kit the Kiss it Goodbye on Colby Corino to secure the pinfall victory.
