After this, Aron Stevens seemingly aligned himself in the corner of The Slimeballz, hoping to help them take out The Colons. Unfortunately for them, they were no match for this year's Crockett Cup runner-ups, as The Colon's secured the pin and the #1 contender spot to the NWA World Tag Team Championships.

Da Pope returned to NWA last month and immediately set himself up in a bit of a pickle. After successfully defeating NWA National Champion "Big Strong" Mims, he was attacked by Mike Mondo & Slade. Mike Mondo has a shot at the NWA National Championship coming up, but Pope didn't come to discuss that. He mentioned that due to that attack, he had not been cleared to compete at NWA 77. He said he came back to the NWA with one mission and one mission only, and that is to claim the NWA World Championship.
