NWA POWERRR August 15th Recap: a NEW NWA National Heavyweight Champion has been crowned, The Royal Court is taking over NWA; Thom Latimer looks to slay a dragon; and Colby Corino is BACK!

This weekend's episode of NWA Powerrr was filled with exciting action including Thom Latimer looking to slay a dragon, Colby Corino's long awaited in-ring return, The Royal Court in action, and a new NWA National Heavyweight Champion is crowned, and lines are officially crossed!
Thom Latimer takes down his former friend
Thom Latimer def El Dragon Nihan
To open up NWA Powerrr this week, we saw a fight that had been brewing for a few weeks. Friends turned foes, Thom Latimer took on his former tag team partner, El Dragon Nihan, and he wasted no time getting the upper hand on him!
It didn't take long for Nihan to regain control of the match, but this 2 really showed that they knew each other's in ring style quite well by now.
Both men showed off a huge display of power, but it was the former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion who ended up really showing out, hitting Nihan with a massive powerbomb for the pinfall victory.
Colby Corino picks up the victory in his in-ring return!
Colby Corino def Axton Ray
In our next match, we saw the in-ring return of Colby Corino, as he made competed in his first match since the 2025 NWA Crockett Cup, taking on newly signed NWA Star Axton Ray. Even being away from the ring, Colby Corino had some new tricks up his sleeve!
Axton made it very clear from the beginning that he was gonna make Colby work for it,
showing off his creative offense to Corino.
Colby came ready for a fight though, giving everything he had to axton and keeping constant control of the match.
In the end, Colby was able to hit a modified brainbuster on Ray to pick up the pinfall victory in his official in-ring return!

The Royal Court def Mims & The Light
In our next match up, we saw King Trevor Murdoch the first, alongside his Royal Court, take on Mim's and The Light. The Royal Court took to the match before the match began, to address the crowd at Center Stage.
It didn't take long for Mim's to take control of the match and begin to manhandle Squire Franks around the ring, as well as Pope's mystery duo, The Light.
However, the Royal Court began to find their stride, and hit a nasty high/low on 1/2 of the light and knocked his shoes off!
In the end, King Trevor was able to hit the kings landing on one half of the light, to pick up the pin fall victory for the Royal Court.
Bryan Idol is your new National Heavyweight Champion...but this is far from over.
NWA National Heavyweight Title Match
Bryan Idol def Mike Mondo (C) to become the new NWA National Heavyweight Champion
In this week's main event match up, we saw the NWA National Title up for grabs as Mondo was set to defend the gold against looks that kill, Bryan Idol.
Bryan Idol wasted no time bringing the fight to the champion, showing that he didn't want to leave center stage without the gold!
It didn't take long though for Mondo to regain control of the match, using his power to his advantage on Bryan Idol.
It was going back and forth between challenger and champion, even at one point where both stars failed top rope manuevers.
In the end when mondo attempted a gut check, Bryan Idol was able to roll him up in a jack knife cover to secure the victory, and become your new NWA National Heavyweight Champion.
After the match however, everything broke lose. Slade came out and put the beating on Bryan Idol leading to the outside. His mother who was at the show attending as a fan, tried to plead with them, which just led to the former champion shoving her to the floor.
